I am incredibly proud to be the Head teacher at Firs. Our school is full of hardworking, enthusiastic and happy pupils and caring staff who are committed to improving the educational outcomes for our pupils. We are supported in doing this by our wider community of parents, carers and friends.
Firs Primary is lucky to have a very diverse community of children who learn, interact and play together very well. We use our ‘Firsy Five’ values to guide the way we learn and behave in school;
Children have a strong voice at Firs. Our hardworking School Council choose a project each term to work on – currently they are looking at increasing our multi-lingual and multi-cultural books for our library and reading shed. They are also lucky enough to be visiting Parliament this year.
Children also enjoy staff being open to suggestions and will certainly give their opinion on ways to improve our school!
Our recent Children’s Voice questionnaires tell us that children feel safe in school, know where to go if they need help and trust that problems will be sorted.
Our recent Parent Questionnaires tell us that 99% of parents believe their children enjoy coming to school, 98% believe their children make good progress, 97% believe the teachers know their children well and 99% say their child feels safe in school.
We are very proud of our Firsy family where we currently have 49 languages spoken and children were born in 46 different countries
